Not only beach is formed of Bahia landscape. In the state of the heart is one of the most beautiful scenery in the country, dotted with waterfalls, caves, canyons and valleys. Coveted by trekking lovers, the Chapada Diamantina National Park has attractions that go beyond their limits and spread through towns that had its heyday in the late 19th century, when the region was famous only for deposits of diamonds.

One of the main cities of the Chapada is Sheets,  with its cobbled streets and colonial houses that houses inns, restaurants and agencies that offer activities in the park and surrounding areas. There are many tour options - always made walking.

Unmissable are leading to postcards: Father Inácio mountain, 1,200 meters above sea level, panoramic view and contemplation point of a beautiful sunset; and Waterfall Smoke, the country's largest, with 380 meters of fall.

As the attractions are far apart, it is worth staying overnight in other cities and towns, as Mucuge, Andaraí and Capon Valley, offering charming pousadinhas, abundant and typical table and lots of hospitality, and keep and tell stories of the Cycle diamonds.

The houses of the natives also become shelters in the Chapada - are them that adventurers who see the five-day walk through the Paty Valley make night stay, complete with home cooking, lamp light and a lot of prose. The crossing is 70 kilometers and surprises trekkers from start to finish. All the way arise natural rewards such as plateaus, waterfalls, rivers, valleys, wells, caves ... not for nothing that the crossing is considered the most beautiful in Brazil.

Few people know that the regional cuisine of the Chapada Diamantina is very rich. There are several dishes that appeal to local and tourists.
The main dishes served in the Chapada Diamantina region and are the banana Godó is a stew with sun meat and green banana; Palma Cut is a type of cactus northeastern hinterlands and served braised and diced; Farofa of the sourdough is made with meat fried and seasoned sun, then it is dried and pressed, as tack.
